“Copan” is an iconic apartment building in the center of Brazil´s largest city, São Paulo. Designed by the Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer, the building has more than five thousand residents of all social classes. The building is a projection of a social utopia: at “Copan”, there are citizens living in residences ranging from 400 square meters to 20 square meters. To capture this diversity, which is a portrait of Brazil, our crew rented a small apartment for two and a half days to be able to observe and register the daily life of “Copan” up close. The name “Copan, 60 hours” came from this decision to immerse in the building for two and a half days: 60 hours of occupation.
